강원도 정선의 봄은 동강 바위 절벽에서 시작된다. 주인공은 동강할미꽃. 묵은 잎과 줄기에 의지해서 한 달 남짓 인고의 시간을 보낸 꽃봉오리는 3월 중순이면 하나둘 꽃잎을 펼친다. 여러해살이풀인 동강할미꽃은 이렇게 서로 의지하며 3월 중순부터 4월 초까지 절정을 이룬다
동강할미꽃은 지구상에서 오직 우리나라 동강 일대 바위나 절벽에서 관찰되는 한국 특산 식물이다. 구부정한 허리에 수줍은 듯 꽃잎을 오므린 할미꽃과 달리, 꽃대가 꼿꼿한 동강할미꽃은 하늘을 향해 꽃잎을 활짝 열고 노란 꽃술을 당당하게 내보인다. 바위나 절벽같이 척박한 곳에 사는 꽃이라고 믿기지 않을 만큼 고운 자태다.

Spring in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do begins at the rocky cliffs of the Donggang River. The main character is Donggang Pasqueflower. The flower buds, which have endured a month or so relying on old leaves and stems, unfold their petals one by one in mid-March. Donggang Pasqueflower, a perennial plant, relies on each other like this and reaches its peak from mid-March to early April.
Donggang pasqueflower is a plant native to Korea that can only be found on rocks and cliffs around the Donggang River in Korea. Unlike the Pasqueflower, which has a bent waist and shyly folds its petals, the Donggang Pasqueflower, which has an upright flower stalk, opens its petals wide to the sky and proudly shows off its yellow stamens. It is so beautiful that it is hard to believe that it is a flower that lives in barren places like rocks or cliffs.

지리산 노고단의 겨울...
노고단은 지리산 종주 코스의 출발점 으로 이곳에서 임걸령-반야봉-토끼봉-벽소령-세석평전을 거쳐 천왕봉에 이르는 장장 25.5km의 지리산 능선길은 산악인이라면 누구나 한 번쯤 가보고 싶어 하는 코스다.
천왕봉(1,915m), 반야봉(1,734m)과 함께 지리산 3대 주봉으로 꼽히며
노고단에서 내려다보는 운해, 봄의 철쭉, 여름의 원추리, 가을의 단풍, 겨울 설화 등 계절별 아름다움을 보여준다.
노고단은 지리산의 산신을 모시는 신앙지로 매년 제사를 올렸던 장소다.
이 제사는 천왕봉 정상에서 행해졌으나 고려 시대에 현 지점으로 옮겨지면서 노고단이란 명칭이 처음 사용되었다.
