Not a house, an ecological research lab that was owned by the University of South Carolina, now abandoned but the island is still owned by the University! So beautifully haunting. Sad that we no longer have this facility as I’m sure it would be a great place for USCB students in the marine science program, but erosion is supposed to happen. A totally natural process that we shouldn’t try to prevent, and barrier islands shouldn’t be built on so they can serve their purpose as a barrier to the mainland.

I look out on this scene everyday. It is just across Skull Inlet from my home. Our Fripp Island Turtle patrol still monitors the turtle nests on Pritchard. It is not really that remote. But it is sad the erosion on Pritchards Island. Beautiful spot in the Lowcountry.

Although I usually prefer "boots on the ground" explorations, I can see this would be impossible, for several reasons. Beautifully done, overcast day only adds to the atmosphere, and ethereal beauty, as does the haunting music. Wonderful!
