For most guns you would use the tip of your finger for that gun you use your full finger wrap your full finger around it line your sites up and let it surprise you like let the gun surprise you instead of anticipating the shot

Pick up a heavier framed used revolver with similar fixed sites for the range. Carry the light weight for self defense. Just a thought.

I have a CA 38 undercover model shoot at the range - I donโt actually line up my sights I just shoot free style point & shoot my rounds make a 6 inch group no hang ups at all shoots great.

I love to see more Charter Arms reviews. That's a great revolver you have there. A double action trigger takes some work to master, you have to control the break. A Hogue grip would be a nice upgrade. You'll also want to clean it with the correct size jag and brush. What you're doing there isn't really helping.
